About the Role:

We have multiple casual roles available for experienced Support Workers in various South Australian locations, metropolitan and regional. We provide 24/7 care for supported independent living, in home support and respite services at this service. You will work across a 7-day roster of day, afternoon, active and passive night shifts. You will provide a high level of care, support, and assistance to clients with varying disability to support them with their daily needs. 

About You:

As an important member of the team, you are flexible, adaptable, and available to work across a 24 hour, 7-day weekly casual roster.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be a fast learner with sound computer skills and the ability to learn various software programs. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team and will receive continuous support and guidance from your Service Manager.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal care duties
  • Undertake meal preparation, cleaning, shopping, and daily living duties
  • Transport clients to and from appointments as required
  • Support clients in achieving and striving for their personal goals
  • Support clients with financial needs and documentation as required
  • Encourage clients to engage in the community and undertake regular activities of their choice
  • Administer medication and assist with medical appointments as needed
  • Document daily case notes and report all incidents that occur on shift
  • Work closely with the Service Manager, clients, and medical professionals and build rapport with key stakeholders
  • Undertake mandatory training courses as required to assist in your development

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience working with people with disability would be ideal
  • Ability to use a tablet and various computer programs
  • Possess a high level or care and empathy for people with disability

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or Certificate III in Aged Care
  • Current certification in First Aid, CPR and Manual Handling
  • NDIS Worker Check or DHS Disability screening, or willing to obtain
  • National Police Clearance, or willing to obtain
  • A current driver’s licence and your own vehicle
